Just like the Grand Daddy Hotel, lovely Lola’s is also a long standing institution on Long Street. She offers a vibey spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Cape Town and grab a quick bite to eat. Situated just down the road from us, on the corner of Long Street and Buiten Street, this stylish restaurant is a Grand Daddy favourite!
What started as a quaint little vegetarian eatery has evolved into a bustling bistro, boasting a combination of fine dining and classic cuisine. When Lola’s came under new management in 2011, the restaurant received a major makeover. Interior designers, Gillian Goodwin and Brenda Hart, created an open and space with wide windows designed to capitalise on natural sunlight, giving Lola’s a fresh and clean lease on life.
The menu is created according to the season and updated often. Owner-chef driven, Lola’s sources the freshest local ingredients and supports sustainable, organic produce and fair trade principles. Ingredients are delivered daily, fish is bought from the harbour, the bread is baked on site…you get the picture! Lola’s also caters for non-meat eaters and offers up a variety of tasty vegetarian-friendly option. It’s no wonder that the place is such a firm favourite with just about everybody!
Whether you’re a local looking for a lazy breakfast, or a guest wanting to try something different, we’d recommend a visit to Lola’s. She won’t disappoint!
(Pro tip: if you’re there for breakfast, get the Eggs Benedict!)
