This week we check out new kid on the street Mexican on Long.

If you’re a fan of Mexican food ‘Mexican on Long’ is the place to go. ‘Mexican on Long’ is a trendy restaurant that just opened in December last year. The restaurant offers you a shot-bar downstairs as well as an in-house “Dairy Shack” serving delicious milkshakes and soft-serve.

Upstairs you will find a sit-down bar, ample seating inside as well as a large terrace with a beautiful view of Table Mountain.

The menu serves up classic Mexican fare such as tacos, burritos and quesadillas as well as main courses with a Mexican touch all freshly prepared. There is also a botanas menu (Mexican for tapas) for diners looking for a light meal or for parties to share over drinks; nachos, chili poppers, chicken wings and paprika prawns are a few of the dishes that appear on this menu.

For the tequila connoisseur there are over 20 tequilas listed on the menu. For the beer lover there is Corona, ITA Tequila Ale and Cape Town’s craft brewery, Boston, serving Naked Mexican on tap. There is also a signature range of cocktails with the house specialty Margaritas; classic, grapefruit or cranberry served shaken or frozen.

The décor creates a relaxing and homely feel with reclaimed wood, antique chairs and tables and original prints and paintings by a local artist.
