Daddy’s picks for Cape Town this week

Festival of Beer – Cape Town
When: 23-25 November
Times: Fri & Sat 12pm – 11pm & Sun 10am – 8pm
Where: Hamilton’s Rugby club, Green Point (3km’s from the Grand Daddy Hotel)
Cost: R90 per ticket
Details:
Celebration of local and international brewing heritage featuring entertainment for the whole family, food, music, rugby and of course BEER!! There will be plenty of sampling, home brewing demonstrations, blind tastings, beer judging competitions and for the first time experts to guide you on a beer tour.

Body Worlds Exhibition
When: until the 31 January 2013
Times: Tickets sold at 2 hour intervals from 9am with last tickets sold at 7pm
Where: V&A Waterfront (2.5km’s from the Grand Daddy Hotel)
Cost: Adults R140, children (6-17yrs) R90 per ticket

Body Worlds & the Cycle of Life Exhibition shows the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of the human body through anatomical studies of the body in distress, disease and optimal health. It includes more than 200 plastinates — specimens preserved through ‘plastination’, which is a process of preserving human tissue invented in 1977 by Dr von Hagens.

Kirstenbosch summer concerts
When: Sunday 25th
Performer: Daniel Bedingfield
Times: gates open at 4pm and concert starts at 5h30pm
Where: Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (12 km’s from the Grand Daddy Hotel)
Cost: Adults R110 per ticket, youth (6-21yrs) R80
Details:
Visiting from the UK this BRIT award winner with two S.A. #1 singles and 4 million in album sales from 2001 to 2004 will be performing at arguably the world’s most beautiful music venue. Seated on a green sloping lawn cradled by mountains and looking over the suburbs of Cape Town the Kirstenbosch summer concerts are a must see while in Cape Town.
You can take a picnic so remember to ask reception about the delicious picnics that the L’Apero kitchen can put together for you. Picnics must be ordered the day before.

Coastal Kyaks
When: every day depending on the weather
Times: 2 hour tours
Where: Three Anchor Bay (3.5 km’s from the Grand Daddy Hotel)
Cost: R275 per person
Details:
See Cape Town’s beautiful coastline from a different view out on the water in a stable double touring Kyak. Coastal Kyaks takes you on a 3-5 km journey south towards Clifton Beach where you can expect to see gorgeous views of Table Mountain, Lions Head and the 12 Apostles as well as lots of bird life and the occasional dolphin, seal or even whales if the season is right.
